PRIVATE GATHERINGS
A table, a question, and the people worth discussing it with.
The Forum meets in small numbers: a private dinner, a morning forum, an evening at The Legacy Room or a private residence. Each gathering takes one question and gives it the time it deserves. There is no stage, no panel, no sponsor's message, and nothing for sale.
The rule of the room
Gatherings are held under a rule of non-attribution. Participants may carry what they learn; they may not reveal who said it or who was present. Nothing is recorded. A guest's office is welcome to confirm arrangements in advance.
Who attends
- Principals and next-generation leaders of enduring families
- Founders, chairs, and partners in private and institutional capital
- Those who have held or hold public office
- Chief executives and chairs of regulated institutions
- A small number of scholars, authors, and community and faith leaders whose work bears on the question
How the Forum meets
Private dinners
Eight to twelve at a table. One question for the evening.
Forums
A morning or an evening at The Legacy Room with a single guest or a small panel, followed by conversation.
Outings
Sport, music, and the arts, hosted for a small number of participants as an occasion for conversation.
The annual gathering
Once a year the Forum brings its participants, Legacy Stewards, and Convening Partners together in one room.
How invitations happen
The Forum grows by referral. Participants propose names; the hosts extend invitations. Those who wish to be considered may request consideration and should expect a conversation before any invitation. Participation is complimentary.
